The new LP cables (LPz, LPDz) will have a different construction and look similar but not quite identical. They will still have the black outer sheaf. The construction of the LP line will be as follows :-

4 cores shielded interconnect cable 99.99%Ag 0.1mmD x 52 strands x 2 core (total 104 strands) 99.99%Ag 0.15mmD x 20 strands x 2 core (total 40 strands). All pure silver wire is long term annealed to provide mellowness for total music enjoyment. It is a combination of different diameters (0.1 and 0.15mm strands) based on extensive listening tests.

Tests have shown that the narrow gauge wires give good delicate musical performance but lacks a certain amount of body, while the converse is found to be true for the thicker wires. This "catch 22" situation is cured by the use of their litz construction where 0.1 mm wires are bundled together into 52 strand wires. However, when selecting 0.1 mm wires, they also found 0.15 mm gave good but slightly different sound. Therefore, to cover all aspects of sound quality, the new LP uses bundles of 0.1 mm and 0.15 mm wires.

Kondo ... they practically built the house on silver cables and components. Kondo has stood the test of time, with Kondo's amplifiers having a lifetime warranty for the first owner.

Kondo silver cables are superb ultimate references like their amplifiers, benchmarks by which others are based.

Kondo silver cables are not like the rest that sound very impressive at first listening with lots of detail, but eventually sound hard as one listens longer. Some silver cables are also ultra-smooth, and totally lacking in dynamics, definitely low fidelity.

Kondo cables do not exhibit these anomalies.

The KSL-LPz has two main improvements over the original LPz.

We have introduced a helically wound silk spiral around the core conducting wires. This acts as a separator between the coated silver wires and the cable insulation. The silk provides not only good chemical buffering but also improves the acoustic properties of the final cable.

The KSL-LPz also features a new combination of litz conductor diameters, selected by careful listening tests and empirical research.

The final result is our most special cable yet - offering greater clarity, a more extended response and more musical freedom than ever before.

This is the only oxygen free copper speaker cable in the Kondo line, and this is also the only copper cable using KSL technology developed to remove the "sound roughness" which arises generally from the lower grade digital sound in the system like home theatre, for example.

The heavily decoded signals from home theatre surround sound decoder and receivers usually comes with very unpleasant edginess and ear scratching sharpness, our KSL-SPc can greatly improve and transform this into a smooth and musical sound.

Of course, it will be a great cable as well for audio only applications, especially where the source is primarily digital.
