The silver cables
of Kondo Audio Note Japan which kept on leading the world's criteria on
"sound quality of cables" have at least reached the ideal quality level with
smoother sound, least distortion and superiority in separation to reproduce
minute signals.
All Kondo silver
wire manufactured by Kondo Audio Note Japan is 99.99% pure silver coated
with six coats of a special polyurethane varnish applied immediately after
drawing.
This prevents
oxidation and provides mechanical surface damping of the proper 'Q'.
The wire is then age annealed to enhance the crystal boundary chemistry.
Remember that the
music signal has an electro-chemical component. A/C current causes chemical
changes in the wire alloy.
Age annealed
copper and silver wires have a purer and gentler sound than the hot or cold
or chemically annealed wires. 1

process to make their wire.

Soundscape HiFi Notes: In our experience, we most definitely attest to
this. We have tried several of the top silver cables around, and none
sound as natural in tonality as a Kondo silver cable, whether used on
solid-state or tube gear. All the rest had that certain "hardness"
associated with silver (especially with solid-state gear), whether in a few
minutes or several hours of listening. But never with a
Kondo silver cable, truly unique and musical all day long. Experience it yourself.

The new LP cables (LPz,
LPDz) will have a different construction and look similar but not quite
identical. They will still have the black outer sheaf. The construction of the
LP line will be as follows :-
4 cores shielded interconnect cable 99.99%Ag 0.1mmD x 52 strands x 2 core (total
104 strands) 99.99%Ag 0.15mmD x 20 strands x 2 core (total 40 strands). All pure
silver wire is long term annealed to provide mellowness for total music
enjoyment. It is a combination of different diameters (0.1 and 0.15mm strands)
based on extensive listening tests.
Tests have shown that the narrow gauge wires give good delicate musical
performance but lacks a certain amount of body, while the converse is found to
be true for the thicker wires. This "catch 22" situation is cured by the use of
their litz construction where 0.1 mm wires are bundled together into 52 strand
wires. However, when selecting 0.1 mm wires, they also found 0.15 mm gave good
but slightly different sound. Therefore, to cover all aspects of sound quality,
the new LP uses bundles of 0.1 mm and 0.15 mm wires.

This is the only
oxygen free copper speaker cable in the Kondo line, and this is also the only
copper cable using KSL technology developed to remove the "sound roughness"
which arises generally from the lower grade digital sound in the system like
home theatre, for example.
The heavily decoded
signals from home theatre surround sound decoder and receivers usually comes
with very unpleasant edginess and ear scratching sharpness, our KSL-SPc can
greatly improve and transform this into a smooth and musical sound.
Of course, it will be
a great cable as well for audio only applications, especially where the source
is primarily digital.
