Len Gregory is not called The CartridgeMan for nothing.  He pushes the limits further with his new MusicMaker cartridge version, the MusicMaker Classic, the first MM we have ever heard of to have silver coils in its generator, similar to Kondo Audio Note Japan's I-OJ MC cartridge.  Other enhancements and refinements can likewise be found inside, as well as having a new translucent resonance damping material on the outside.  Furthermore, it includes the two-way filter The Isolator to fully maximize the cartridge performance.

This new MusicMaker cartridge was designed and developed with The Conductor parallel tracking air bearing tonearm.

More information on the cartridge soon at our CartridgeMan webpage.  In the meantime, read the first exclusive review from Stereo Times.

Kondo KSL-M7 with phonoA few more days to the Singapore hifi show ...

Right out of their boxes, the Kondo KSL-Kegon, Kondo KSL-M7 / Phono, and Living Voice IBX-RW are superb, and that's only with CD.  To echo the general sentiments of customers who have heard them - "a system that once heard needs no convincing of the high pedigree sonics."

The Kondo KSL-Kegon 300B power amplifier has to be the most powerful and fastest 300B power amplifier we have heard.  No problems playing Metallica or Western Electric 300B TubesSepultura here.  And that's with Western Electric 300B tubes, unheard of, it will change one's preconceived notions of the Western Electric 300B tubes as syrupy and only good for vocals.  The combination with the Living Voice IBX-RW results in a versatile, all-rounder system, with excellent timbre and balance.

Unlike most participants, we look forward to be demonstrating in a Le Meridien hotel room.  No excuses from us for bad room acoustics.  How can it be bad when it is similar to a typical Singapore home's room ?  After all, in the words of a customer, we "are not trying to stuff an elephant inside a small cage" :)

Kondo engineer at work Living Voice Speakers Satin WalnutIncoming for the 2006 Singapore hifi show on Aug. 11 to 13, the new Living Voice IBX-RW loudspeakers.  These are the inboard crossover versions of the new Living Voice OBX-RW.  The new Living Voice OBX-RW loudspeakers, with their outboard crossovers, were demoed at the UK 2006 Bristol show together with the latest update Kondo Audio Note Japan electronics (read more on the show details).

Kondo KSL capacitors manufactured by Kondo Japan themselves.  It is rare in a company to manufacture capacitors, let alone most of the parts inside their products.  The company has almost total control of the finished product, to meet their high standards.

Kondo engineer at workKondo has an illustrious history of world's firsts.  The world's first silver wired MC step-up, world's first silver wired phono cartridge, world's first pure silver dual conductor interconnect, innovations in silver wired output transformer, silver wire OPT, pure copper chassis, etc.

We strive to bring you part of the magic heard at the UK 2006 Bristol show in the 2006 Singapore hifi show, where we will drive the Living Voice IBX-RW loudspeakers with more modest latest update Kondo Japan electronics.

The superb dps turntable which is only modest in appearance, but not in performance, will serve analog source duties.  This will be the dps 3 turntable model with the 3-phase power supply, partnered with the Schroder No. 2 fW tonearm, especially made for dps turntables only.

Kondo engineer at workInterested to see and talk to Kevin Scott, Living Voice designer ?  Then you'll have to visit the Hongkong 2006 hifi show, on the same date as the Singapore show, Aug 11 - 13.  The Living Voice OBX-RW will be seen at the Kondo Audio Note Japan room, together with Kondo engineers.

Kegon Literature

The ever musical Lavardin Technologies integrated amplifier, that musically embarrasses many more expensive pre-power amplification, together with the similarly high-performance Graham Slee phono stages will also see action, to carry the flag high for solid-state.  Both these brands never fail to grasp the musical essence, with the pace, rhythm and timing intact.  Give us a system that can time properly as well as render timbre well, anytime.

Scheu turntables ?  Well, these best buy turntables have already proven themselves by replacing some of the so-called "best".  And the new higher models have moved the sonic goal posts even further.

Analog playback ... currently at our showroom are two of the best, both from Germany.

One of them is the Scheu Analog Das Laufwerk No. 1 (DL No. 1) turntable system, the bigger brother of the high performance Scheu Premier

And the other one is the simply elegant and classy dps 2 turntable system, recently voted as part of the best system at the recent 2006 Munich, Germany show.  Check out its 2-phase AC motor power supply with its own power amplifier, and speed adjustable.

For  Scheu Analog Tacco unipivot tonearm owners around the world, please note that the effective length between pivot point and spindle is 212 mm.  We highly recommend the use of the Feickert Analogue universal protractor, The Tool, for setting up this or other tonearms and cartridges.  Correction of an error of even just 2mm in overhang can result in a huge sonic improvement, as our customer has proven.  Another customer reports results as sonically awesome.  These are the best argument for using The Tool, it's a no-brainer, a rocket launcher in one's arsenal of analog setup tools.

The music is back at our showroom in a big way, analog-wise.  Check out the new Scheu Analog Das Laufwerk No. 1 turntable (DL No. 1) currently on demo with the Scheu Analog Classic MK2 tonearm - simply superb, truly outstanding.

The Scheu Analog DL No. 1 is on demo now with the new Graham Slee Reflex + Elevator EXP phono stage, the astonishing petite Lavardin IS integrated amplifier, and the ever-tuneful and brilliant Living Voice Auditorium 2 loudspeakers.

View more photos of the Scheu Analog DL No. 1 turntable.

* All our tonearm-cartridge combinations will now be set up with the Feickert Analogue universal protractor, The Tool.  It is proving to be indispensable, easy to use, and certainly improves accuracy of setups in a much shorter time, either at the showroom or for our customers.  Innovative, the best alignment tool we've seen so far, and certainly not the most expensive. Getting the two point alignment right in one go is such a delight.  More details on The Tool in the June 20 news below.

Also incoming, the elegant dps turntable will arrive soon this week or next to bring more music at our showroom, with its new 2-phase power supply.  The dps turntable is coming in fresh from its success at the Munich High-End 2006 Show, where it was part of the system selected as best sound of the show by one of TNT-Audio's veteran analog men.  Show report below, June 15 news

The Feickert Analogue universal protractors for setting up tonearms and cartridges, The Tool, are now available at our showroom for sale.  View more photos.  The markings on The Tool are in English.

Truly a very good innovation to more accurately set up a tonearm/cartridge.  Get the most out of your analog system.

The dps turntables' power supplies have been updated.

Some may wonder at the price difference between the dps 2 and dps 3, when the "only dissimilarity" is in the power supply.

Well, we have to give credit to a sonically ingenious approach by dps designer Willi Bauer.  The dps 2 with its 2-phase PS-2P-NT power supply is by itself a superb turntable.  But once the 3-phase dps 3 PS-3P-NT power supply is introduced into the system, the improvement is so significant that it will not be possible to go back to the lower model PS-2P-NT

It proves that turntable power supplies can have considerable impact on a turntable's performance.

Both power supplies are pure analogue sine wave generators, but with the dps 3 power supply having an additional phase.

There are 3 power amplifiers, one for each phase.  Incidentally, these power amplifiers can play music if used that way, and are sonically great.  However, in this application, their use is for powering the 3 phases.

Obviously, this technology is costlier, but the end result is that the dps 3 PS-3P-NT power supply propels the dps turntable's performance to even greater sonic heights.

This is a definitive statement to Bavarian precision and unreserved attention to all details of a turntable system.  Result : World-class in a small package.

Watch for the dps 3 at the coming Singapore HiFi Show on Aug 11 - 13, 2006, Le Meridien Hotel.

TNT-Audio Munich High End 2006 Show Report :

Best Sound : The system with a dps turntable and My Sonic Lab Eminent MC cartridge is selected by the writer as the Best Sound of the show.  We have always thought a Graham tonearm sounds best with most MM cartridges rather than most MCs, and on one of the dps turntables at the show, the show organizers paired a Graham tonearm with a Grado MM cartridge.

2nd Best : Coming in second was the Continuum turntable with a Jan Allaerts cartridge.

Also on the show report is a look at Germany's women and some gentlemen in audio, including Ulla Scheu of Scheu Analog.

Ongaku ... the Japanese word for Music, or musical movement.

We are pleased to bring our customers another first-class range of superlative Japanese audio products, designed to reproduce "ongaku" for maximum bliss. As one writer wrote about one of their products - "I got a glimpse of heaven ..."

The company's products are recognized by many as the best in the world in their category, or undoubtedly among the best.  Their first product was unveiled in the mid-70's, and was responsible for the full renaissance of single-ended amplification, and the audio industry parameters have moved dramatically since then.  To this day, their amplification are still the reference in their class, the ones others look up to, the ones serious music lovers wish to own.

Watch this space for more details ... coming your way at this year's Singapore hifi show, Aug 11 to 13.
