Probably the
most difficult stage of amplification in any system is the first, and
the preamplifier has the primary responsibility of preserving the music
signal -where the key is to maximise the dynamics in the signal and
minimise any corruption.
Graham's
designs are very concise, using the shortest possible signal path and a
circuit board that is made from a secret organic material.
This is then
treated with a special purified silver coating process that
delivers three times more silver than conventional coatings, which has a
significant effect on the transparency of the amplifier.
A circuit
board is used in preference to hard wiring because, when executed
properly, it is more effective in reducing noise resulting in a quieter
background allowing more information to be heard.
The Syren
is laid out using four carefully divided partitions to eliminate the
disruptive effect of magnetic, mechanical and electrical fields for the
critical aspects of the circuit.
All the
components are oriented to limit interference, and are of the
highest quality available. Most are specially made to order like the
strip core transformers and chokes that are hand wound.
This
guarantees perfect pitch, tonal colour, timing and harmonic
structure of the music, where lesser components corrupt the signal.
All these combined with the expert hand craftsmanship of a master of his
trade (the Syren takes over 70 hours of skilled labour) brings you a
preamplifier like no other - the Syren.
